Dote

Terms of Service

Effective September 4, 2026

These are the ground rules for using Dote, the couples app made by O9Tech ("we", "us"). By using Dote you agree to them. We've kept them short on purpose — the privacy policy covers how your data is handled.

1. Using Dote

Dote is a private space for two people in a relationship. You need to be at least 13 (or the higher minimum age where you live) and old enough to use the App Store's or Google Play's services. One account per person, used honestly.

2. Your content stays yours

Photos, notes, drawings, and everything else you create in Dote belong to you. You give us only the limited license we need to run the service: to host, process, and deliver your content to your partner and render it in your widgets. That license ends when the content is deleted. We claim no other rights to it — no training, no marketing, no reuse.

3. The ground rules

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

4. Dote Plus

5. Leaving, unpairing, deletion

You can export your memories, unpair, or delete your account at any time from within the app. Unpairing starts a 30-day grace window during which either partner can invite the other to rejoin; after it, the couple's data is permanently deleted. Details are in the privacy policy.

6. What we can't promise

We work hard to deliver moments in seconds, but widgets and notifications ultimately ride on Apple's and Google's systems, phone batteries, and networks we don't control. Dote is provided "as is", without warranties, and we're not liable for indirect damages. Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or $50 if you're on the free tier). Nothing here limits rights that your local law says can't be limited.

7. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Dote after that means you accept the new terms.
